States Newsroom Launches “Countdown ‘24” Newsletter Chronicling Presidential Race
Legendary Iowa Journalist Kathie Obradovich and Robin Opsahl to oversee newsletter
WASHINGTON – States Newsroom launched Countdown ‘24, a newsletter to help readers navigate the 2024 presidential campaign through reporting from its 34 outlets, including the Iowa Capital Dispatch and New Hampshire Bulletin, and over 170 reporters across the nation. The newsletter was announced to States Newsroom’s audience in early June and officially debuted today ahead of presidential candidates barnstorming for the Fourth of July weekend. Countdown ‘24 is authored by the Iowa Capital Dispatch’s Robin Opsahl and edited by veteran Iowa caucus journalist Kathie Obradovich.
You can subscribe to the newsletter HERE.
Delivered weekly on Mondays, Countdown ‘24 will compile the best coverage of the 2024 campaign and is the only newsletter of its kind drawn from teams of full-time reporters on the ground in key states. As candidates stage campaign stops across the country, readers will have a one-stop-shop to learn about the race for president from the network of local journalists.
“The race for president begins with a marathon across primaries and caucuses around the country, and we are thrilled to be able to showcase the excellent stories from our local reporters who understand the dynamics in their state best,” said Chris Fitzsimon, Director and Publisher of States Newsroom. “We’re launching Countdown ‘24 to provide a one-stop-shop for on-the-ground coverage on the states and dynamics that will help decide the next President of the United States.”
States Newsroom plans to launch three more outlets in West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Maine this summer – bringing their presence to at least 37 states before the end of the year.
